Walking along the Weesperstraat in Amsterdam yesterday, I stumbled upon this new form of grafitti advertising. This particular ad is for the new environmentally-friendly Smart car. The text below reads: A bit cleaner for the city. The new Smart mhd.
There’s some controversy about whether or not it’s legal, but as it’s basically just cleaning the pavement using a stencil and water and not actually applying anything, I’m sure there must be a loophole in the law somewhere. The only company I have found that offers this service is Street Advertising Services.
Although I wouldn’t want miles of pavement in Amsterdam to be covered in clean-advertising, I do really like the look of this one.
